There are a variety of oral pathologic condition that can occur. The following can be signs at the beginning of a pathologic process or cancerous growth inside the mouth:
- Red or white patches in the mouth.
- A sore area that does not heal and bleeds
- A lump inside the mouth that increases in size
- Throat pain, changes in the voice, ear pain, or difficulty chewing or swallowing.
Some of these changes can be detected on an exam. If any suspicious areas are noted on oral exam, a biopsy of the area can be accomplished to accurately diagnose the condition.
